An FIR was registered against a microfinance company for allegedly abducting minors from a village in Malavalli taluk in Mandya in an attempt to recover dues.
According to complainant Naveen, an autodriver residing in Jalahalli village in T. Narsipur in Mysuru district, his mother had taken a loan from the microfinance company and had paid 12 instalments.
On June 16, Naveen dropped his wife and daughter in Poorigala village in Malavalli taluk in Mandya and returned to Mysuru. But, the microfinance representative allegedly came to the village when his wife and sister-in-law were not at home.
When Naveen’s daughter informed the representative that his mother was away at work in an incense sticks factory, he allegedly took the girl and a boy from a neighbouring house to show him her mother. When he was not allowed inside the factory, he brought them back to their house.
Naveen lodged a complaint with the Belakavadi police station in Mandya.
