A case has been registered against five individuals from Andipatti’s Srinivasa Nagar for allegedly cheating a man of ₹8.5 lakh by falsely promising him a government job in Madurai Corporation and in Aavin.
According to police sources, Dinesh, 36, son of Kamatchi from Vaigai Pudur near Periyakulam in Theni district, was allegedly cheated by Nagalakshmi, Senthil, Murugan, Hema, and Ramya. In 2018, the gang had collected ₹5 lakh from Dinesh promising him a bill collector post in the Madurai Corporation. When the job failed to materialise, they reportedly assured him of employment in Aavin in 2022, collecting an additional ₹3.5 lakh over time.
