Around 38% of the adult Italian population committed at least one act of audio-video piracy in 2024, enjoying films, TV series and shows, music and live sporting events through illegal channels, a report said on Wednesday.

The study by the Ipsos and audio-video-and-multimedia-industry federation Fapav said around 295 million acts of piracy of this kind were committed last year at a cost of around two billion euros to the economy, endangering some 12,100 jobs.
