The education ministry on Monday extended a ban on cell phone use by students from middle to high schools.
The ministry issued a circular that also provides for a ban on cell phone use during teaching activities and more generally during school hours for high school students starting next school year.
"This measure now appears urgent," said Minister Giuseppe Valditara.
