A91-year-old man shot dead his 86-year-old hospitalised wife and then turned the weapon on himself near Varese Monday, local sources said.
The man reportedly entered the hospital in Angera with a small-calibre pistol hidden on him and shot his wife, who was hospitalized in a sub-acute ward in the facility, killing her.
He then turned the gun on himself, shooting and killing himself.
The Carabinieri of the Gallarate company and the Varese department are working on site, coordinated by the local prosecutor's Office.
The causes of the murder-suicide are being examined.
