In an unprecedented ruling, the committee overseeing the World Zionist Congress elections in the United Kingdom disqualified the ultra-Orthodox Eretz HaKodesh party on Tuesday for urging its supporters to violate voting rules. The British Area Election Committee announced that the party was barred from the race after it urged supporters to register family members by proxy. According to U.K. regulations for the Zionist Congress elections, all voters must register in person.
