Russia launched a deadly mass missile and drone attack against Ukraine overnight, hitting Kyiv and the western cities of Ternopil and Lutsk.
At least five people were killed in the capital and a further 20 injured as multiple drones hit apartment blocks and other civilian infrastructure.
Homes, schools and government buildings were hit in Lutsk, with authorities reporting at least five people injured.
Locals in Ternopil were urged to seek shelter from a high concentration of toxic substances in the air after a fire.
The attacks days came after Donald Trump said Putin told him that he would need to respond to Ukraine’s attacks on Russian airfields on Sunday.
