A major search has been launched after a teenage girl fell into the water at a beauty spot near Rochdale.
The youngster, whose age has not been confirmed, is missing after reports she fell into a reservoir at Baitings Dam this afternoon.
West Yorkshire Police officers, along with fire and rescue and paramedics, descended on the large body of water in Ripponden shortly after 1.17pm.
Water rescue teams, incident response teams and other services, will continue to search the reservoir throughout the evening after efforts to find the girl have been unsuccessful.
The ongoing operation is focused on the area around Baitings Dam, a large water supply reservoir managed by Yorkshire Water, situated in the valley of the River Ryburn.
