hen Lady Zoe Warren was nine years old she was a slight, blonde, outdoorsy child who loved to play with her older siblings and her ponies, dogs and budgies. It was a long hot summer’s day in 1993 and she had just finished another afternoon of Pony Club at her paternal granny’s house in Suffolk. She had wandered off in the sunshine after the lesson when a runaway pony bolted from nowhere and kicked Warren in the stomach. The injuries were catastrophic.
