A study of nearly a million people has found new evidence to suggest that drinking scalding hot coffees and teas could significantly increase a person’s risk of getting cancer in their esophagus.

The new study said the temperature at which coffee and tea is drunk in Western populations is estimated to be around 60C

Researchers believe drinking very hot drinks as opposed to warm drinks may damage the cells lining the oesophagus which could contribute to cancer developing in your food pipe
