CID detains Abhishek Banerjee's aide Sumit Roy after SC rejects anticipatory bail plea in Bengal land case

West Bengal CID detained Sumit Roy, personal assistant to TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. This detention occurred soon after the Supreme Court refused his anticipatory bail plea. Roy was taken from Banerjee's Kalighat residence in connection with a land scam. The Supreme Court also vacated its earlier order which had stayed his arrest. Roy had been summoned multiple times previously regarding the illegal land sale.
