The UK government has announced sanctions in response to a controversial new Israeli settlement in the West Bank - there are around 700,000 Israeli settlers in the occupied territory

British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband told the House of Commons last week the UK needs “a comprehensive reset of our policy” when it comes to the West Bank.

According to a report by The Telegraph, the restrictions will be introduced despite criticism from the US administration and some members of the Labour Party

The U.K. is one of a dozen Western nations to announce trade restrictions Tuesday on goods made in Israel's West Bank settlements.
