Falklands oil row deepens as Argentina targets energy firm with criminal charges

A presidency statement confirmed that Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno will submit the legal complaint targeting a number of Navitas subsidiaries, associated partners, and their executive board members.Navitas did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Argentine authorities claim the businesses breached domestic law by using UK-issued hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation licences in the North Falkland Basin.During his announcement last week, Milei focused on the offshore Sea Lion project, beginning legal action to introdcuce sanctions on directors, investors, and contractors involved in Falklands oil and gas endeavours.
