Zelensky’s security forces clash in ‘disgraceful’ Kyiv shootout

The confrontation erupted when armed HUR officers attempted to intervene during an SBU search involving Stepan Kaplunov, the deputy commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps. Three officers were reported injured in the exchange of gunfire, which led Mr Zelensky to dismiss senior SBU official Oleh Khramov. Mr Zelensky said that state weapons are strictly to be used in defence of Ukraine against Russian occupiers, warning that internal armed disputes will not be tolerated. A criminal investigation has been launched by the Prosecutor General's Office and the State Bureau of Investigation to establish responsibility for the incident.
