Lidl owner picks wind-rich German region for EUR 5.6bn data centre

Schwarz Group, which owns the Lidl and Kaufland retail chains, has selected a region in northern Germany to build a EUR 5.6 billion (USD 6.49bn) data centre, drawn by abundant onshore and offshore wind energy in the area.
