An immigration judge issued a final order of removal on July 22 after Yiannopoulos failed to appear for his immigration hearing, leaving him in ICE custody pending deportation. His arrest occurred roughly a day before his former boss, Kanye West, was scheduled to perform at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Yiannopoulos, who has a long history of posting racist, sexist, and transphobic rhetoric online, had previously voiced strong public support for ICE and mass deportations.
