Nepal floods: British man fears for five family members after village swept away

Mr Poudel believes 90 per cent of his family's village has been swept away and plans to travel to Nepal after losing all communication with his relatives. The torrential floods across Nepal and Tibet have claimed more than 350 lives and left hundreds missing, including 33 British tourists. Transport and communication networks have been severely disrupted due to destroyed roads, collapsed bridges, and complete power outages across the region. Experts state the disaster was caused by a major glacial collapse at an altitude of 5,200m that sent a massive debris flow into the Lhende River.
