At least 17 people have died and hundreds are missing after a devastating flash flood on the Nepal-Tibet border.
In total 384 people, including 12 Britons, are missing after the flood hit the Bhote Koshi River – in the Rasuwa region – at around 8.30am local time on Wednesday.
Nepal police told the BBC that 17 bodies have been discovered.
The country’s tourism board and tourist police are “working to verify the whereabouts and safety status of tourists and travellers who were in or travelling through the affected areas”.
They included 12 UK citizens from one tour company, with the nationalities of many others yet to be confirmed.
