Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman pitched India’s growth story to Canadian financial institutions and urged them to deepen their investments in India. Speaking in Toronto at the first Economic Financial Dialogue, Sitharaman described the current phase of India-Canada relations as a “wonderful time” following the reset between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Canadian PM Mark Carney. She said in the times of global uncertainty India and Canada would be able to contribute to greater predictability in global growth. Sitharaman also highlighted opportunities in food security, energy security and critical minerals.
