Meta will pay up to $17 billion and introduce new protections for US teens to settle a landmark child safety case.

Meta agreed over the next decade to restrict teenagers’ use of Facebook and Instagram to two hours a day and block all usage from midnight to 6 a.m., absent parental consent.

The tech giant is also calling on TikTok and YouTube to adopt the same policies.
