Nigerian Police Probe Extortion Of N40,000 At Checkpoint By Officers In Abuja

The Nigeria Police Force has commenced a probe into allegations that some of its officers extorted N40,000 from a motorist in Abuja after stopping him at a checkpoint and demanding money despite confirming that his vehicle documents were complete. The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, disclosed the development while responding to a viral video in which the man narrated how he was allegedly forced to transfer the money to an account provided by one of the officers.
