Singapore, ranked the world's second-richest country by GDP per capita in 2025, would reduce infant-care fees to S$300 (US$236) per month as its government pushes to make childcare more affordable for families.

The prime minister called on employers to make sure becoming a parent never disadvantages someone’s career.

Absorbing more of the costs of childcare and preschool is “one of the best investments we can make”, said Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
