Australia’s recorded music industry says tracks wholly generated by AI will be barred from official charts as burgeoning generative technologies threaten artists’ livelihoods.

Songs created mostly or entirely by artificial intelligence will be excluded from Australia's official music charts from this Friday.

Brisbane producer Josh Fawaz’s synthetic rework of ‘Like a Prayer’ is set to disappear from the charts under the change made by the ARIA.

Only music deemed substantially human-made will qualify for Aria's charts.
