Max Verstappen suffered a dramatic early exit in his final home race at Zandvoort after crashing heavily into the barriers on the opening lap. Kimi Antonelli finished second after Mercedes instructed team-mate George Russell to yield his position late in the race to boost Antonelli's title campaign. Russell held off a late challenge from Lewis Hamilton to take third place, leaving both drivers level and 59 points behind Antonelli. The victory moved Norris, who won last time out in Budapest, up to fourth in the championship standings as he continues his bid to defend his world title.
