Shiromani Akali Dal chief and former Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal has spoken for the first time after being attacked at a gurdwara in Nanded, Maharashtra. Badal alleged that the attack was aimed at disturbing peace in Punjab and said he would not be intimidated. He has since been discharged from a private hospital after suffering a hand injury and undergoing surgery for tendon and nerve damage. The alleged attacker, 62-year-old Jaspal Singh, has been taken into custody. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a probe into the incident.
