Danube River reveals Nazi warships hidden underwater for 80 years: Record-low water levels are exposing the World War II wrecks near Serbia

The Danube River has fallen to exceptionally low levels this summer, exposing the remains of Nazi-era warships that have spent more than eight decades beneath its waters near Prahovo, Serbia. The wrecks are part of a much larger graveyard of vessels deliberately sunk in 1944 as German forces retreated from advancing Soviet troops during the Second World War.
