Shiromani Akali Dal chief and former Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal was attacked with a knife while visiting a gurdwara in Maharashtra’s Nanded. Security personnel intervened immediately and overpowered the assailant, while Badal sustained an injury to his hand and was taken to hospital. His condition was reported to be stable. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a probe into the incident and sought a report from the Nanded SP. SAD leader Sanjeev Talwar has called the incident a serious security lapse.
