Won’t seek reappointment as Tata Sons chair after tenure ends in Feb 2027

Mumbai: About a year after Tata Trusts, which controls 66% in Tata Sons, the holding company of India’s largest conglomerate, unanimously approved a third five-year term as chairman for N Chandrasekaran (62), he abruptly announced Wednesday morning his decision “not to offer himself for reappointment when my term ends on Feb 20, 2027” on the grounds that “one of the board members (of Tata Sons) did not support the proposal”.
