The earthquake killed at least 181 people and left 2,595 injured, according to Colombian authorities. At least 195 remained missing, but civilian-run databases put that number closer to 4,000.

People remained trapped in Cali, one of Colombia's largest cities, after more than two dozen structures collapsed, Mayor Alejandro Eder said.

Colombia earthquake update: President Abelardo de la Espriella reported 111 deaths, 87 people injured and over 1,000 buildings damaged.
