‘Nigerian Government Still Subsidising Fuel, Naira’ — Sowore Vows To Restore Subsidy If Elected

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has stated that the Nigerian government is still paying subsidies on petrol, despite its repeated claims that fuel subsidy has been removed. Sowore also claimed that the government is secretly subsidising the naira to maintain its exchange rate against the United States dollar, saying Nigerians have not been adequately informed about the measures being used to support the currency.
