GURGAON: Torrential rain and another collapse of civic infrastructure forced Gurgaon - the state's corporate capital - into an unplanned work-from-home mode on Thursday after flooded stretches, submerged underpasses and hours long traffic snarls prompted police and the district administration to ask companies to keep employees off roads.

Traffic officials also appealed to residents to avoid non-essential travel, follow traffic advisories and cooperate with personnel deployed on the roads

A 33-hour spell of heavy rain that dumped 117mm of rainfall across Gurugram resulted in three deaths in Gurugram and Faridabad on Thursday
