President Donald Trump laid into US Attorney Jeanine Pirro at a White House meeting Monday evening over a court filing that blamed Reflecting Pool damage on shoddy workmanship rather than vandalism, according to two sources familiar with the intense discussion.

Pirro’s office, in a court filing on Friday, moved to drop criminal charges against a former Olympian, David Hearn, who had been accused of deliberately damaging the pool.

The president maintained his claim that the pool had been vandalized after Pirro’s office said new evidence showed the damage resulted from a “botched installation.”
