No fewer than 25 people have been confirmed dead, and 44 others sustained various degrees of injuries after a passenger bus veered off the road and plunged into a ravine in northern Algeria on Friday. The fatal crash occurred in the El Karma area of Boumerdes Province, about 50 kilometres east of the capital, Algiers, according to AFP. Algeria's Civil Protection agency said the bus was travelling from Sétif when it lost control, skidded off the highway and tumbled into a deep ravine.
