No fewer than 25 people have been confirmed dead, and 44 others sustained various degrees of injuries after a passenger bus veered off the road and plunged into a ravine in northern Algeria on Friday.

Algeria's Civil Protection agency said the bus was travelling from Sétif when it lost control, skidded off the highway and tumbled into a deep ravine.
