Walker wins 400m hurdles gold at C’wealth Games

For the second day in a row, Jamaica picked up four medals in the athletics programme at the 2026 Commonwealth Games as Sanique Walker, Assinie Wilson, Christopher Taylor and Alana Reid all finished on the podium in their respective events. Walker captured Jamaica’s first medal of the day when she won gold in the women’s 400 metres hurdles final. She crossed the line in a personal best 54.00 seconds to get the better of England’s Emily Newnham who finished second in 54.04.
