Bush pleaded guilty to numerous charges, including 30 counts of preventing a lawful and decent burial, fraud related to bodies and 57 sets of ashes, and theft from 12 charities. His fraudulent activities included retaining bodies for months, distributing incorrect ashes, taking payments for unarranged funerals, and stealing charity donations. Hull Crown Court heard that Bush breached families' trust "on an almost industrial scale," including four instances of falsely presenting ashes as foetal remains.
