Economists in the Shadow MPC said interest rates should be left at 3.75 per cent after results suggested inflation would not spiral.

Economists have said they still expect a majority of the Bank’s rate-setting committee to opt to keep the base interest rate at 3.75%.

The Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged at 3.75 per cent.

Interest rates have been on hold since December 2025

A number of economists have predicted another seven-to-two vote in favour of holding the current rate.
