Igneo Infrastructure Partners, an investment arm of Australian asset manager First Sentier Investors, said on Tuesday it had launched distributed energy platform Vertis Energy, anchored by an agreement to acquire a sector player and its 46-MW portfolio of operating distributed solar assets in Australia.

Igneo’s pick to run Vertis, Jason Willoughby, is a well-regarded executive who led CWP Renewables before billionaire Andrew Forrest acquired it for $4 billion.
