Ondo Communities Threaten Lawsuit Over ‘Removal Of Water Pipelines,’ Accuse Aiyedatiwa Govt Of Selling State Assets

Communities in Owani, Idoani and Afo in Ondo State have threatened legal action against the Ondo State Water Corporation over the ongoing excavation and evacuation of decades-old water pipelines, alleging that the exercise could permanently deprive residents of future access to public water supply. The threat was contained in a one-month pre-action notice dated July 23, 2026, issued by Rich Templars Legal on behalf of the affected communities and addressed to the General Manager of the Ondo State Water Corporation.
