Jordanian and American military chiefs discuss defense coordination amid regional tensions

WASHINGTON: Jordan’s top military commander held high-level talks at the Pentagon as Amman and Washington seek to strengthen defense coordination amid the recent Iranian attacks that have targeted Jordan and other US allies in the Middle East. Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, chairperson of Jordan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Gen. Christopher J. Mahoney, vice chair of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, discussed the expansion of military cooperation and the coordination of their responses to evolving security threats, Jordan’s Petra news agency reported.
