Nigeria's Appeal Court Upholds Forfeiture Of N293.9Million, Properties Linked To Ex-Military General Atewe

The Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal has upheld the final forfeiture of over N293.97 million, multiple landed properties and investment assets linked to retired Major General Emmanuel Jebe Atewe, affirming that the assets be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government. The appellate court, in a unanimous judgment delivered on Wednesday by Justice Boloukuromo Moses Ugo, dismissed Atewe's appeal against the ruling of the Federal High Court in Lagos, which had granted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) application for the final forfeiture of the assets.
