Bear spotted at the top of telephone pole along New Mexico highway

A woman driving along a New Mexico highway spotted the bizarre spectacle of a large bear at the top of a telephone pole. Shannon Mullens told the Storyful news agency that she was traveling from Red River to Oklahoma along Highway 56 on July 20 when she spotted the animal. “At first, we thought that the bear was dead, until we got closer to it and then we realized that he was still alive,” she said. Shannon called 911 but was told to leave the bear be as there was nothing the authorities could do.
