DUBAI: Bulgaria’s parliament is expected to vote on a proposal to allow up to eight US tanker aircraft to be stationed at Bezmer Air Base, after the plan was approved by the parliamentary Defence Committee. The deployment, requested by Washington to support US military operations in the Middle East, would include KC-135 aerial refuelling aircraft and up to 250 US military personnel, according to Bulgarian authorities. The aircraft are expected to be stationed at the southeastern Bulgarian base from July 24 to Oct. 1 under the Bulgaria-US Defence Cooperation Agreement.
