A federal judge has temporarily blocked a Trump administration policy. This policy aimed to restrict work authorization for immigrants with Temporary Protected Status. The ruling protects tens of thousands of individuals from losing their livelihoods. The judge will decide on a longer-term pause by August 5. USCIS cannot strip people of work permits for failing to pay a new fee.

The order prevents thousands from El Salvador, Sudan and Ukraine from losing work authorisation while lawsuit proceeds.

The order will remain in effect until the judge decides whether to issue a longer-term pause on the administration's policy
