A former US Army soldier protesting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been arrested in New York after allegedly setting off fireworks, lighting a fire and shooting a pellet gun outside a federal office building.

At least two people were injured as a result of the incident, the FBI confirmed.

The FBI said Andrew Arrabaca “came armed with bad intentions” and is “an anti-American, anti-government extremist.”

A man with a history of anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity set off an "incendiary device" outside a federal building in Manhattan, officials said.

The individual is reportedly a 43-year-old anti-ICE activist.

Andrew Arrabaca, 43, was identified as the suspect in the 26 Federal Plaza incendiary attack. The FBI is probing the incident as a possible act of terrorism.
