Father Petitions Ogun Chief Judge, Alleges Judge Ordered 28-Day Detention, Claimed To Be 'Acting On Orders From Above'

A father, Mr. Olufemi Olanrewaju Sowunmi, has petitioned the Chief Judge of Ogun State, accusing a Family Court judge, Mrs. Somefun Esq., of abusing judicial process, ordering his unlawful arrest and detention for 28 days, and frustrating the enforcement of a valid child custody judgment delivered by the High Court of Bayelsa State. In the petition dated June 22, 2026, Sowunmi alleged that he was detained for 28 days after missing a Family Court sitting because he attended proceedings in a related divorce and child custody case before the High Court of Bayelsa State.
