Flower, who previously guided England to three Ashes series victories during his tenure between 2009 and 2014, had emerged as a leading candidate to replace Brendon McCullum, who departed the red-ball role last weekend.Flower’s decision is primarily due to significant scheduling conflicts arising from his current coaching commitments with Indian Premier League outfit Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Hundred side London Spirit. Flower stated he is very happy with his current roles and comfortable with his existing commitments, despite acknowledging the privilege of the England Test coach position. England must now continue their search for a successor to McCullum, as they aim to make an appointment before their three-match series against Pakistan commences on 19 August.
