China’s internet regulator has listed Apple Intelligence among seven on-device generative AI services that have completed the required filing process. Apple’s filing was completed on July 8, 2026, and made public on July 15. It removes a legal barrier that has kept the service off iPhones in mainland China.Alibaba’s Qwen will provide text, image-understanding and content-generation functions inside the Chinese service. Baidu is helping Apple develop other features. But a completed filing is permission to proceed, not evidence of a public rollout.
