BBPA chief executive Emma McClarkin anticipates Wednesday will be “the most successful night of the tournament”, surpassing typical Bank Holiday or New Year's Eve boosts. Data from Barclays shows England's World Cup matches have already significantly boosted UK pubs and bars, with transactions tripling when England beat Mexico and reaching a year-to-date high against Panama.
