His wife, Svetlana Grković, desperately grabbed his legs, and with the help of other passengers, pulled him back inside as he repeatedly lost consciousness while stuck outside for two minutes. The incident occurred approximately half an hour after take-off, with passengers reporting a sound like a tyre bursting before the window ruptured, leading to a rapid descent. The pilot returned to Thessaloniki airport, where Mr Karović was immediately hospitalised with severe injuries, including burns and a badly injured hand, leaving him unable to speak or recall the event. Ryanair confirmed the flight returned to Thessaloniki after a passenger window dislodged inflight, stating one passenger received medical assistance and a replacement aircraft was arranged for the remaining passengers.
